Program Summary:
The Select program is a competitive, advanced development program designed for committed, technically skilled players looking to improve and compete at higher levels.  Previous competitive experience required and is available for players U11 to U19 (birth year 2014 and older).  This program runs on a year-by-year basis as teams grow, develop and adapt each year.  There are two stages to Select - U11 & U12 (9v9 on a smaller field) and U13+ (11v11 with a much bigger field).  Our Select program follows the fundamental principles of our philosophy - we all attack, we all defend.  Our aim is to create a holistic player-centric development model so players can learn the game in a realistic, experiential way - ensuring player autonomy and their own decision making.  Teams keep score and compete against more challenging opponents each season as we push teams to move up skill levels.  t is very important in this program that teams are competing and being challenged so they can continue to grow. This program provides US Soccer licensed coaches, additional weekly technical training and goalkeeper training and a higher level of competition week in and week out.

SII WDDOA Alpha - $1500/year
SII WDDOA Challenger - $1700/year

This is for a full year commitment (Fall & Spring).  The placement of the team in the SLA or WDDOA league is determined by the Director of Coaching and Technical Director for the club.  These fees can be broken down into 6 payments on a set schedule throughout the year, if preferred.  Fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.

The required uniform kit is approximately $190 (price will vary based on sizing) + tax and shipping. This is for a 2-year uniform cycle starting Fall 2023 and includes two game jerseys (home and away). one pair game shorts (gray), 2 pair game socks (home & away), one practice jersey (yellow), one pair practice shorts (black and one pair practice socks (black).  Recommended items include the LU backpack and jacket.  Uniforms will be purchased online through Soccer.com.  After you register for a team, you will receive a unique URL that will take you to your player’s uniform ordering page.

Practices:
Liberty Hill City Soccer Fields
251 County Road 200
Liberty Hill, TX 78642

Select teams practice 2 nights a week for 1 hour 30 minutes.  Team Managers will communicate the schedules before the start of each season.  There is an optional technical training session held by the club each week, along with two days of GK training - these skill/position focused trainings are open to the Liberty United players only.  All players are required to attend ALL of their team practices, games and tournaments.  If there is a major conflict or illness/injury, it needs to be communicated to the team coach and manager with as much advance notice as possible.  Some teams participate in leagues that do not require 50% playing time in games.  When this is the case, your team’s coach/team manager will make sure parents are notified before the season begins.  Remember, commitment to practice, both being there and being focused and giving your best effort, are the values that will earn the most playing time and personal reward in growth.  Missing practice, games or tournaments may result in less playing time.  In the case that the league requires 50% playing time, teams will honor the league rules.

Travel:
Select teams are ‘traveling’ teams.  The teams have both home & away games.  Travel radius for SLA league away games is 60 miles and WDDOA away games is 150 miles.  Games may be scheduled for Saturdays or Sundays, with the occasional need to play both weekend days.

Tournaments:
Tournaments are a great learning experience for Select teams.  Select teams should play in 1-2 tournaments per season, in addition to their regular season games (approx. 10 games).  Tournaments are parent-funded by splitting the cost evenly between team players.  Tournament fees, when divided, average $50 per player.  Tournament games can be on Friday-Sunday, with a 3-game guarantee.  If there is out of town travel for a tournament, the parents also split the cost of hotel accommodations for the coach.  There will be one required tournament per season, with players paying their fee regardless of attendance.  Any additional (approved) tournaments will only be funded by those in attendance.

Season Dates/Tryouts:
Select teams start in August & end at the conclusion of the Spring season in May (a 1-year commitment).  Fall season training will begin in August with games running until the end of November while Spring season training starts in January with games running from February through May.  December and part of January are considered winter break. Liberty United accepts players mid-season with Spring Evaluations, as space allows, held at the end of the Fall season. At the conclusion of the Spring season in May, tryouts are held the first week of June for the new upcoming year. If the player is chosen again for the program, they will move up to the next age level and be placed where they will be most competitive. Please keep in mind that in the Select program, players are not required to make a team.  Extensive evaluations will be done to determine if your player is ready for the program and if so, with what team and skill level they will compete the best. If a player does not make a team - Feedback &/or recommendations can be requested from the Liberty United Staff.

Parent/Player Expectations:
Parents will have the ability to attend an informational meeting at the beginning of each season that goes over expectations for both parents and players - Location will be provided once tryouts are over. Parents will have the ability to ask questions and meet the Liberty United staff.
