Program Summary:
The Jr. Academy program is available for players U7 and U8 (birth years 2017-2018) and runs for two years before players have the opportunity to follow the player development pathway into the Academy program for Liberty United.  This program focuses on introducing and developing technical skills (dribbling, passing, shooting, goalkeeping) while initiating game-like experiences on a slightly larger field and bigger goal.  These teams can play 5v5 or 7v7.  Our aim is to create a holistic player-centric development model so players can learn the game in a realistic, experiential way - ensuring player autonomy and their own decision making.  We are development based and not focused on winning or losing.  Jr. Academy centers on the development of proper technique and understanding of basic fundamentals of the game.  Teams are coached by USSF Licensed coaches.

Fees:
$850 for a
full year commitment (Fall & Spring).  Fees can be broken down into 6 payments on a set schedule throughout the year, if preferred.  Registration fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Uniform:
The required uniform kit is approximately $190 (price will vary based on sizing) + tax and shipping.  This is for a 2-year uniform cycle starting Fall 2023.  Included are two game jerseys (home & away), one pair of game shorts (gray), two pair of game socks (home & away), one practice jersey (yellow), one pair of practice shorts (black) and one pair of practice socks (black).  Recommended items include the LU backpack and jacket.  Uniforms will be purchased online through Soccer.com.  After you register for a team, you will receive a unique URL that will take you to your player’s uniform ordering page.

Practices -
Liberty Hill City Soccer Fields
251 County Road 200
Liberty Hill, TX 78642

Jr. Academy teams practice 2 nights a week for 1 hour 15 minutes.  Practices will be either individual team practices with your assigned coach or a “pool” training session where all Jr. Academy teams scheduled that day would practice specific techniques and skills in a larger group setting.  Team Managers will communicate the schedules before the start of each season.  Players are expected to attend ALL practices, games and tournaments.  If there is a major conflict or illness/injury, it needs to be communicated to the team coach and manager with as much advance notice as possible.

Travel:
Jr. Academy teams are ‘traveling’ teams and play most games away from our home fields at what are called Academy Festivals.  This is set up so that all Jr. Academy teams can meet at one location and play multiple teams from other clubs, depending on skill level.  These games are played in Austin and the surrounding areas (for example: Round Rock, Pflugerville, Austin, Salado, Georgetown, Hays, etc.).  Academy Festivals are on Saturdays during the season, and you can expect to play 2 games per festival.  Games are 50 minutes long so expect to block 2-3 hours at each festival plus drive time.

Tournaments:
Tournaments are a great learning experience for Jr. Academy teams and are a fun bonding experience for both teams and parents.  Jr. Academy teams are required to play in 1 parent-funded tournament per season. Tournament fees are paid by parents splitting the cost evenly, and average about $40 per player.  These fees are to be paid regardless of attendance.  Tournament games can be on Friday-Sunday (depending on the tournament schedule) with a 3-game guarantee.

Season Dates/Tryouts:
Jr. Academy teams start the Fall season in August & end at the conclusion of the Spring season in May (a 1-year commitment).  December and part of January are considered winter break.  Liberty United accepts players mid-season with Spring Evaluations, as space allows, held at the end of the Fall season.  At the conclusion of the Spring season in May, tryouts are held for the new upcoming year.  If the player is chosen again for the program, they will move up to the next age level and be placed where they will be most competitive.  Fall season training begins in August with games running until the end of November.  Spring season training starts in January with games running from February through May.

Parent/Player Expectations:
Parents will have the ability to attend an informational meeting at the beginning of each season that goes over expectations for both parents and players.  Parents will have the ability to ask questions and meet the Liberty United staff.
